Review :
DELICIOUSLY ARROGANT HERO
Beatriz Blake is having a very uncomfortable interview with her father Monty Blake. After her sister's engagement to Sergios Demonides fell through, it has threatened the business deal that the two men had agreed to. Monty Blake is desperate for the hotel deal to work, it will mean his financial ruin otherwise. Sergios needs a wife to be a mother to the three children he has become guardian of after his cousins death. Monty Blake was not having much luck persuading Beatriz to go to Sergios and ask him to marry her in place of her sister Zara. But Monty has an ace up his sleeve he blackmails Beatriz, knowing she cannot refuse him.

Sergios Demonides is surprised to receive the offer for Beatriz to marry him instead of her sister. But after thinking it over and of course having her checked out he agrees.

This is the second book in the trilogy of three sisters. The first Roccanti's Marriage Revenge (Mills & Boon Modern)! Was quite a poor effort. This though has the...
a lot better
I wont recap the story line since the previous reviewer did but this book was much better than the first one. I love the herione Bee because she stood up for the to die for Sergios. The hero is arrogant and handsome while the herione is average and not his usual preference. This seems to be the trend with this author. Her heriones are beautiful/dumb or average with a backbone. Well anyways they made a deal for a marriage of convenience..she takes his name and care for his guardians while he provides for her and continues on with his mistress. This arrangement change when he sees her fo the strong caring woman to his guardians and on the strip pole...yes a strip pole. I love both of the characters but not together. Im not convnce that he loves her or will remain a faithful husband. There was no hero pov.

Sadly stale
I feel bad about this low rating, because Lynne Graham is my favourite romantic author - I have every romantic book she's written. Sadly her last few stories have been very stale. For the first time ever I didn't buy the first book in this series (Roccanti's Marriage Revenge), because the reviews here were so dire, and I have had similar feelings about her other recent books. With better reviews for A Deal at the Altar I did buy it, but it's just the same. The whole series is planned around arranged marriages - these people aren't in love, they're just making the best of things. I loved her early books: A Savage Betrayal, Prisoner of Passion, Indecent Deception, The Secret Wife, The Expectant Bride, One Night With His Wife, The Disobedient Mistress etc, etc. All well-rounded characters in interesting situations, sparkling dialogue (what I would give to have such good comebacks during an argument!), a touch of humour etc. Something has gone wrong, I'm very sorry to say. Don't bother...
