This unique subject gives overtake the anticipation, this has become a wonderfull replace on myself, The concept appeared securely and speedily SEAL the Deal

This is a stand alone novel that can be read out of sequence. Portions of this book have appeared in several SEAL anthologies. This is the only version of the expanded and substantially changed story of Nick and Devon.
Special Operator Nick Dunn returns stateside to learn his sister is losing her battle with cancer. He comes to Sonoma County to help her close down and sell her struggling nursery, ten acres of heaven in the midst of vineyards. He isn't prepared for the attraction he instantly has to Devon Brandeburg, his sister's best friend and Realtor. He remembers her as a "noodle-armed youngster with braces" but boy has she grown up.

Devon Brandeburg remembers well the day her best friends big tough "testosterone-stuffed" brother came swaggering in, bragging he'd just graduated BUD/s and went on to get his gold Trident. She sees the same braggadocios attitude that repulsed her then now that he has come to help his sister settle her affairs. But she is surprised when one of the requirements for liquidating the nursery is a deathbed request. She finds she has to work closely with a man who is dangerous, especially since Devon's barely been kissed.

What starts out as an obligation soon turns to a heated affair that pushes both their boundaries. As Devon's body awakens to this man's touch, Nick's need for a life other than casual sex and perpetual bachelorhood evaporates. When a plot is uncovered that a greedy winery owner plans to do anything to possess the property, everyone involved is put at risk. Nick and his SEAL Team 3 buddies are tasked with saving the day.

Review :
So conflicted and a little bit angry
***SPOILERS***
I am so conflicted about this story. It had some really good points to it, but some of it was just mind boggling. I have been reading this series and for the most part, I like the author's work. I shied away from this story because the premise just seemed strange. Why would a terminally ill woman leave a nursery to her brother and best friend who do not get along and then make them date? But, for the sake of the story, lets go with it. I did not like the heroine, Devon Brandeburg. She is so uptight, rude, and really needs anger management. Not only is she rude to Nick, but she treats his SEAL team buddies abominably. I still don't get what the scene was with her getting mad at all of them was about. It wasn't like they were mocking her and what is it with the reaction to being called ma'am? Very extreme! What was so strange to me was that Nick was made out to be a manwhore and she is a virgin, but when it comes down to it, he is the one with the feelings and she...
love me a SEAL
I think this tops any of the other in the series. It was intense and a few times threw me for a loop. I love reading books that keep my mind challenged and this is one of them. I cried for Sophie, so unfair what happened to her. I laughed at the SEALs antics, loved the way the brotherhood is portrayed. I was angry at Nick for doing some of the things he did... and there is Devon, a great friend to Sophie, spitfire is an apt description for her. I love a ending with HEA. Thank you Ms. Hamilton for another awesome read.

Memorable story
I really liked this story, I put me through a gamut of emotions. I liked that the h/h and were very real and likeable, especially Nick. Devon is the best friend of Nick's sister Sophie. Sophie is terminally ill so Nick and Devon come together to help her sell her property. As they work together, they begin to develop feelings for each other. Meanwhile, threats are made to Sophie, although I thought the suspense was quite predictable and even mildly drawn out. The climax was short and wrapped up neatly, so much so that I really wanted/expected more. There is also a secondary romance that was really sweet. Sharon Hamilton did a wonderful job writing about Sophie's cancer; it was quite emotional and because of these heavy emotions, I doubt I would re-read SEAL the Deal, despite my high review. This is definitely memorable and be prepared to become emotionally invested in the characters.

At 7:00 am in a Boston boardroom, there's a disaster in the making. High in an office tower in the heart of the financial district, lawyers and bankers are fighting a deadline to close an $840,000,000 leveraged buyout.  Under the pressure of the crowded agenda, no one notices that a zero has been dropped from the mortgage document.  The papers are signed, cheers and applause roar from the boardroom--and the fuse of a time bomb is lit.  When it explodes, there will be hell to pay.  As the partners of Freer, Motley, the presiding law firm, will discover, they are collectively and personally liable to their client to make up the multimillion-dollar shortfall.

And so begins an accelerating and dire chain of events.  Freer, Motley's senior partner is found dead, and its brightest young associate is charged with murder.  The firm needs a fall guy, and John Shepard, brilliant but arrogant--and recently passed over for partner--fills the role to perfection.  Defending John Shepard in a Boston court is going to be a career buster.  No one wants the job, and no one understands why Ed Mulcahy accepts the case, even if he is Shepard's friend--but they don't know that he's already in way too deep to walk away.

On a par with Scott Turow's Presumed Innocent, The Deal is the most exciting new legal thriller from a first-time author to be published in years.  Written by a young partner with one of Boston's prestigious old firms, it is an utterly authentic view of the city's judicial system, from the ex-con informants, paid for their evidence, to the district attorney who needs a conviction for the sake of his political career.  It is also the compelling story of two young lawyers--a defendant and his attorney--realizing too late that they are up against an old-guard establishment more powerful than they could ever imagined.

Review :
If you liked 'A Civil Action' - you'll love 'The Deal'
This is a fast-paced Boston legal intrigue. There is a mega-deal with an apparent typo - that hands $830,000,000 back to the buyer. No one knows who was responsible at the law firm for the (?)misprint in the deal. Then the senior partner on the deal is found murdered, and his associate is (?falsely) accused. He appeals to his buddy to defend him with only 13 days to build a case... It is superbly written - with suspense and excellent dramatic timing that leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat. It has a wonderful Boston feel, a background love story - I loved it.

one of the tops in its genre
I came across THE DEAL while looking for a financial thriller. But this one got me completely hooked, I read it at night, during lunch breaks, and I finished it in less than 48 hours. As an IB, I love to read books involving fictious deal making, although Willett's book isn't about investment bankers, I can relate to the time pressure in the beginning of the book. A great book for anyone who's interested in legal and financial area.

Great characters, often funny, non-lawyers don't be afraid
I am a lawyer. Lawyers come in many ways. Litigators, corporate, prosecutors, senior corporate, associates, district attorneys, paralegals <well they are not lawyers> and others. They all do different things, as distinct as a bromelia is from an emu. Mr. Willett places them all here. And from my experience, he does a good job with them. They are funny per se. I don't think that this is a lawyers-only humor. The story is set in Boston. Imagine a deal whereby a bank gives some people money to buy a company. And, as you know, banks do not lend money, big money that is, without some collateral. Well the collateral is a big building in Manhattan. And some lawyer made a mistake whereby the collateral is worth $800,000,000 less than it is suppose to be worth. And then there is a murder. All hell breaks loose. The Harvard attorney who dealt the deal is indicted, his Northeastern pupil has to defend him, people get fired, crippled techies are shot at, and time is...

Review :
Felt the build up between Serena and Bryan worked really well and realistically.
Whenever I'm in need of a good, steamy read the Brazen line is always a good choice. I have read a few other books by Christine Bell and was excited to see she was coming out with another Brazen. Although I did not read the first book in the Perfectly Matched series, I was still able to follow along with this one- though now I want to go back and read Grace and Trick's story!

Pacing: Christine's stories are always fast paced, sexy reads. I felt the build up between Serena and Bryan worked well and realistically. They are attracted to one another, and while they act on that attraction, it isn't until later that they realize feelings are involved.

Storyline: Neither Serena nor Bryan are looking for love. They are thrown together due to scheming best friends and siblings and despite their red hot attraction to one another, find they need one another for different reasons. Serena needs Bryan to be the face of their matchmaking company and Bryan needs Serena to...

Been there...read that...

I had much higher hopes than this one ended up delivering on. The story starts out cute enough but then quickly falls into the same old tired routine of two people who are jaded on love and think that they have found the perfect "no emotions, sex only" relationship that both will be able to walk away from unscathed.

There was not enough grit to the story to carry it along and I quickly became bored with all the characters inner monologues of denying their feelings and excuses on why they could not be together. If there was a silver lining to the book I have to say that although it was predictable the ending was cute and nicely done.

Art today is defined by its relationship to money as never before. Prices have been driven to unprecedented heights, conventional boundaries within the art world have collapsed, and artists think ever more strategically about how to advance their careers. Art is no longer simply made, but packaged, sold, and branded. In Art of the Deal, Noah Horowitz exposes the inner workings of the contemporary art market, explaining how this unique economy came to be, how it works, and where it's headed.

In a new postscript, Horowitz reflects on the evolution of the trade since the book's original release in 2011, shining light on the market's continued ascent as well as its most urgent challenges.

Review :
Poor
This is not a book as much as it is an incomplete academic research paper. First of all the "book" has only 3 chapters, Video Art, Experimental Art and Investment Funds. More than 1/3 of the entire text(pages 215-361) is simply reference material(i.e. appendix, citations, bibliography etc.)

This book reads like an academic paper and is not very useful or interesting. For a much better read on the insights into Contemporary Art Market I would suggest the The $12 Million Stuffed Shark: The Curious Economics of Contemporary Art by Don Thomson. The $12 Million Stuffed Shark: The Curious Economics of Contemporary Art

Great read
An accessible, informative and highly enjoyable read. It's a great look at the conteporary art market with enough story-telling and background that I felt like an insider by the end, despite being just a casual art observor. I received as a gift and it's been a hit for everyone I've done the same for.

A long overdue book on understanding the art market
Art of the Deal is an inspiring excavation of the many building blocks of the art market, weaving a succinct walkthrough of art historical insights with clever perspectives on contemporary practice. I finished the book astonished that something similar had not been written long ago--after all we live in a world where understanding market behaviour is no longer desirable but a must! Although the book cannot be said to be easy reading to the layman reader, testing our understanding of both cutting-edge art historical theories and complex financial factors, it is nonetheless a highly enjoyable read. I especially found myself amused when reading the chapter on experiential art: Indeed, how does one price an art work consisting of the artist cooking a meal and leaving the messy kitchen behind!? Having read Noah Horowitz' book, I can now say that I better understand the Art of the Deal!

What would you do for five million dollars? Adam and Evia Langston have lived in their own little garden of Eden since the two married at the age of seventeen. Working their way up from the humblest of beginnings, the Langstons have thrived beyond anything they could have ever imagined. Now they live in the finest home, drive the best cars, and indulge in all the trimmings that signify their massive success.

But then the recession hits and rips apart the family’s financial stability. Unable to support their three children and other relatives, Adam and Evia find themselves drowning in financial trouble and teetering on the brink of complete disaster. With nowhere to turn, the Langstons have no idea what to do.

Until Shay-Shaunté, Evia’s multimillionaire boss, comes to the Langstons with a five-million-dollar offer that seems so hard to refuse. Will the Langstons make this deal? Or will they recognize that the glitter of five million dollars may be far from gold?

Review :
A High Price To Pay For Money
In her tenth novel, Victoria Christopher Murray has penned an emotionally gripping story that has brought to life a cast of characters caught up in a tragedy as timeless and evocative as those of the Ancient Greeks or Shakespeare. Evia and Adam were a couple living the American Dream, until Adam lost his high paying corporate job. Now they find themselves living the American nightmare. There's more month than money and financial ruin is imminent, but there's a life raft - an offer of $5 Million Dollars if they'll.... They take the deal, but then their lives spin out of control. Murray convinces readers with a conviction of a skilled writer that you cannot, should not dance with the devil. I thought about this story long after I closed the book.

Ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight...you shouldn't
Adam and Evia Langston are experiencing financial lows because of unemployment, greed, and lust. Evia's supervisor Shay offers her a silly million dollar deal. Evia and Adam accept the deal and pay, royally. This is an average novel - starts slow and heats up towards the end. It is not christian fiction. The way Evia and Adam are described when they have sex should have been omitted. It is lengthy and sometimes boring.
It's not the typical Victoria Murray Book. Not enough suspense and too much whining. I understand it is fiction but life imitates art. This book was imaginative like a cartoon. I give it an OKAY rating because the message I got from it ---if you dance with the devil, you should expect to get burnt. To me, this is a positive message that is very useful.

strong inspirational family drama
As she nears her fiftieth birthday, wealthy Shay-Shaunte knows what she wants as her special present. Until Shay-Shaunte offers one of her executive assistant, Evia Langston five million dollars for a weekend with the latter's husband Adam. Stunned Evia says no thanks.

However, Evia knows her family could use the money as they are nearing financial ruin with the economy tanking. She also knows that when she and Adam exchanged vows in front of the Lord when they were seventeen, they pledged a faith based relationship to raise their kids in. Now Evia and Adam must choose between the she-devil serpent's glittering offering to save the Langston's Garden of Eden or trusting in God to take care of them and their children.

The immediate reaction is The Deal, the Dance, and the Devil is a gender bending version of Redford's Indecent Proposal to Moore and Harrelson; but that is only at the surface. Instead this is a much deeper profound character driven tale as...

In their thought-provoking and insightful revised introductory ethics text, authors Michael Panicola, David Belde, John Slosar, and Mark Repenshek address complex and controversial health care issues that are very much a part of our everyday lives. Using a normative framework, the authors incorporate specific issues, case studies, and multimedia aides in each chapter to encourage students to engage in moral discourse and reflection. Key additions to the revised text include a glossary; updated facts, figures, tables, and statistics; new case studies; chapter discussion questions, including social-ethics questions; and social analysis.

Sonia Frey fears for her sanity. Her marriage ended in divorce after her husband tried to kill her, and an acid trip has disordered her senses-she can now ""feel"" smells and ""see"" sounds. To escape her immediate situation she has moved to a remote Alpine village, where a series of unusual events throws her into further turmoil. The mystery deepens as she discovers a parallel to these occurrences in local folkloric tales of the supernatural. Could the legend of the Devil of Milan really be true? Or is the truth more sinister? Sonia's mind, already under pressure from her strange sensory awareness, is stretched to the breaking point by the climate of paranoia developing around her. Tightly plotted and intelligently written, this engrossing mystery's gripping ending will leave readers pondering the shifting nature of truth and identity.

Review :
Psycho-thriller a la Suisse: LSD and synesthesia
Martin Suter is my favorite writer of thrillers in the German language. He is a Swiss living abroad (why is it that so many of my favorite writers are expatriates like myself? Nabokov, Sebald, Doeblin, O'Brian, and quite a few more... ). He has a sideline in his publishing career: he writes splendid little satires on business life and the subculture of the 'Schickeria', as we call the yuppies and nouveaux riches in German. His main location is Zurich, which has its fair share of bankers, art dealers, other dealers, confidence men, etc. Actually his best novel is his latest, set in the art market scene in Zurich, but that one is not out in English yet.
The Deal with the Devil is a little burdened by the fact that some of its narrative elements are a little unconventional. Actually I think these parts are very good, but they challenge belief and are not straightforward prose.
The story is about a Zurich divorcee, a young woman struggling to get a foothold. Her husband had...
Good travel read
an ideal travel read, as is the dark thriller `Deal with the devil' written by Martin Suter, a swiss writer which has been translated into English. My first read of a translated thriller, the story works well, with its drawing on deep and dark elements in nature to reflect the dark aspect of the legend that surrounds the village where the female lead works. A romantic novel that starts at a slow pace and has a disturbing thread running throughout the story-that the main lead can smell emotions and see sounds, a leftover disorder from a drug trip. Good page turner while travelling.

Der Teufel von Mailand: Diabolical Entertainment
Martin Suter is a Swiss author, and his works came highly recommended to me by a couple of friends from that country. Normally I'm politely reluctant to read books that have been translated from German to English, even one that came as a gift as did this one, as many of them have turned out to be dry and somewhat disappointing, but this author's A Deal with the Devil is a diabolical tale was skillfully translated by British journalist and author Peter Millar. My friends had said that I wouldn't be let down, and I wasn't.

Zurich divorcee Sonia Frey fears for both her sanity and her life. She's a young woman under pressure to get a grip since her husband tried to kill her. He had been placed in an asylum, and Sonia has taken a walk on the wild side, so to speak, with a disturbing LSD trip. The book begins with the following passage on its first page:

"The air no longer smelled grey like slate and she...

Review :
Fell short of a good read
Synopsis:

A husband's price. Sandrine hadn't forgotten the thrilling passion she'd shared with her husband. But when only six months after their wedding, Michel Lanier had forced her to choose between her career and their marriage...Sandrine had to walk away. Michel had won her heart, but he couldn't rule her life! Now Sandrine's career was facing a crisis, and only Michel could help her. He would do so, but for a price: Sandrine must agree to share her husband's life, and his bed, once more!

Comment:

I really like Helen Bianchin but the conflict between the hero and heroine seemed quite silly in my opinion. After reading the book I was still puzzled on why the heroine left, why the hero let her leave, and why the hero had to contrive some set up to get his wife back. What was lacking in this book was some big fight or event that separated the two. Not just some silly fight about Sandrine's acting career and her signing a contract without Michel's...
Really Boring !
The reason I read this book was because I like to read Helen Bianchin's work but this one was sooo boring !
Sandrine married Michel Lanier. They were in love with each other and they have a great sex life but then Sandrine left Michel to take up acting. Sandrine used to be a model, before meeting Michel and now Sandrine was able to act in this movie. She knows that Michel won't like it and didn't tell him about it until the last minute. They had a great argument, followed by great sex but in the morning, Sandrine left him to pursue her career.
Now the movie is on a tight budget and they really need money to complete the movie. And the only one who could help them out is Michel. He will help out, only if Sandrine returns to his side...
I wish I could rant and rave about this book because it was sooo boring. But then I would be giving away the ending, in case anyone wants to read it. But the thing I hated most about it was that there was no great big fight or some big...
More Romance Less Clothes
I like Helen Bianchin but the development of the romance, love, and conflict of the two characters was missing in this story. The constant focus on the attire, hotels, and other expensive items overshadowed the characters. Tell me why he let her walk away, why did she walk away, and why did he come after her? The "deal" was too contrived and I didn't really care for either character.

Review :
DELICIOUSLY ARROGANT HERO
Beatriz Blake is having a very uncomfortable interview with her father Monty Blake. After her sister's engagement to Sergios Demonides fell through, it has threatened the business deal that the two men had agreed to. Monty Blake is desperate for the hotel deal to work, it will mean his financial ruin otherwise. Sergios needs a wife to be a mother to the three children he has become guardian of after his cousins death. Monty Blake was not having much luck persuading Beatriz to go to Sergios and ask him to marry her in place of her sister Zara. But Monty has an ace up his sleeve he blackmails Beatriz, knowing she cannot refuse him.

Sergios Demonides is surprised to receive the offer for Beatriz to marry him instead of her sister. But after thinking it over and of course having her checked out he agrees.

This is the second book in the trilogy of three sisters. The first Roccanti's Marriage Revenge (Mills & Boon Modern)! Was quite a poor effort. This though has the...
a lot better
I wont recap the story line since the previous reviewer did but this book was much better than the first one. I love the herione Bee because she stood up for the to die for Sergios. The hero is arrogant and handsome while the herione is average and not his usual preference. This seems to be the trend with this author. Her heriones are beautiful/dumb or average with a backbone. Well anyways they made a deal for a marriage of convenience..she takes his name and care for his guardians while he provides for her and continues on with his mistress. This arrangement change when he sees her fo the strong caring woman to his guardians and on the strip pole...yes a strip pole. I love both of the characters but not together. Im not convnce that he loves her or will remain a faithful husband. There was no hero pov.

Sadly stale
I feel bad about this low rating, because Lynne Graham is my favourite romantic author - I have every romantic book she's written. Sadly her last few stories have been very stale. For the first time ever I didn't buy the first book in this series (Roccanti's Marriage Revenge), because the reviews here were so dire, and I have had similar feelings about her other recent books. With better reviews for A Deal at the Altar I did buy it, but it's just the same. The whole series is planned around arranged marriages - these people aren't in love, they're just making the best of things. I loved her early books: A Savage Betrayal, Prisoner of Passion, Indecent Deception, The Secret Wife, The Expectant Bride, One Night With His Wife, The Disobedient Mistress etc, etc. All well-rounded characters in interesting situations, sparkling dialogue (what I would give to have such good comebacks during an argument!), a touch of humour etc. Something has gone wrong, I'm very sorry to say. Don't bother...

Review :
exciting contemporary romantic suspense
After performing as a superstar in a male world, Quinn Star quit the old boy network because she could not crash through the glass ceiling. She blames much of her failure on her former lover and ex boss "Puff" Lapusky, who she felt held her back. Quinn enjoys teaching law at Georgetown and loves her fiancé Judge Alexander Duval, ironically nominated to be the next FBI Director.

For the first time in over seven years, Puff visits Quinn asking her to serve as a secret service agent protecting the First Lady Lettie Jaye, who has been acting strange. The Feds want her under surveillance and protected. Puff believes that Quinn is the best "man" for the job. The assignment proves problematical as Lettie uncovers a high level government conspiracy to hide the truth even if it means killing the current temporary occupants. The most difficult aspect of Quinn's job is not keeping the First Lady safe; it is the return of Puff. She now realizes that her negative feelings for...
So NOT the REAL deal.
This is the first of Fern Michaels I've read and I just could not take this book seriously. first of all the whole so called scam in the white house was so ridiculously far-fetched and the dialogues were so jumbled that you could literally forget how it actually started especially when the first lady rambled on and on. the characters of agent Star and Wilson were so not of women aged 40 and who have such serious top-notch jobs, they were so immature. but im willing to try more of her books...lets see.

She does it again!
Fern Michaels is one of my favorite authors, and she does it again with The Real Deal! Quinn Star (what a great name!) engaged to a boring judge, steps out of the realm of everyday life in protecting the eccentric, wacky, First Lady of The United States. However, the First Lady is right on the map about her husband. Who would know better than she that the love of her life is in trouble?

I was intrigued with the tunnel that runs between the two houses in South Carolina, and I just had to laugh out loud at Quinn's (also wacky) Aunt Birdie who enjoys "doctoring" up dead people!

You can always tell when reading Ms. Michael's books that she is a canine advocate. Although I'm not real intrigued with dogs myself, I do enjoy the escapades that show up in the books by this author. I highly recommend this book for a lazy summer afternoon.

Review :
Smart, sexy, and seductive; this novella is a great read for any contemporary romance fan.
This was my first experience with Mary Campisi and I was definitely encouraged to read more of what she has to offer. The Sweetest Deal was short and sexy with a unique plot and storyline.

Max has had some serious pain in his past and is simply the type of guy who keeps away from commitment minded women. I really liked him as the romantic lead with his tough businessman exterior, engaging personality, and tantalizing sexuality.

Gorgeous business woman C.C covers her hot body and good looks with dull, oversized suits and an icy personality. She was just right in my books for a girl hurt in the past and trying to protect her heart; no stupid objections or irrational actions, but she did need to get over it. But Max sees right through her and can't help his attraction to the brilliant, triple chocolate Macadamia Nut cookie toting, real estate developer. A bad deal might have brought them together in the first place but love blossoms in this fiercely passionate...
Cute Read
First test in a prospective mate: Voluntarily eat three huge Triple Chocolate Macadamia Nut cookies.

Max Jernigan passes C.C. Cowell's first test, but fails her second. He works in real estate so she stands him up. In the meantime Max, desperate to land the backing of C.C.'s father Grayson, agrees to Grayson's final contract term: get his daughter Catherine pregnant. Needless to say, Max is shocked to find out C.C. is Catherine.

C.C. and Max connect from the moment they meet. They have a real chemistry. Sadly C.C. has been burned in a past relationship so she's slow to trust. Max slowly breaks down C.C.'s walls, and in doing so falls in love with her. At the twist when Max decides he wants more than a fling and when C.C. finds out about Max and her father's deal she strikes back. So this leaves the supporting characters, C.C.'s best friend, Roxie and Max's analytical business partner, Rhyder as unlikely matchmakers.

C.C. is a very complex character...
Not so sweet
There are really only two ways for a story like this to go. It could take a standard romance storyline and add its own new modern twist making it believable, fun, and romantic. Or, it can follow the standard romance storyline with stilted characters, a boring supporting cast of friends and family, and nothing new to offer. Unfortunately for me, this story was the latter.

CC Crowell is hiding in her job after a botched relationship. She feels that that one horrible decision to have fallen for the wrong man is keeping her father from seeing she is ready to take over at work so she works harder and harder to prove herself. Max just wants to make a business deal. He may have ideas of having children someday, but he doesn't want a relationship--he's been there and done that.

I just couldn't buy into this story. I couldn't buy into the fact that a father would be so crass as to tell a business associate that he will only sign off on this multimillion dollar...

Alan Hyatt could do his job in his sleep, and when the Goddard Project sends him to investigate a case of high-tech espionage in the Vancouver film industry, he finds a perfect reason to work in bed. But sizzling actress Jillian Carlyle also happens to be his landlady, and she's got a hard-and-fast (so to speak) rule that keeps her from dating her renters. While Alan's cover as a reporter gets him close to all the suspects on the set of Jillian's sci-fi show, playing a background actor at her suggestion to get his story? Well, that's something else--but he's not about to turn down a red-hot redhead, even if she keeps throwing him curves. . .

Jillian just can't understand it. Sure, Alan is six-feet-something of chiseled ruggedness with gray eyes and an irresistible growl in his voice. But hello? She doesn't do relationships--even of the casual kind--with men who impact more than her senses. No one is getting a chance at her heart. Especially not one of her renters. Still, there's nothing wrong with enjoying Alan from afar--but not too far, or she wouldn't be able to fully appreciate his rock-hard abs when he's working out in the home gym. If only he didn't make her feel safe and oh so right when they touched. . .Alan Hyatt could do his job in his sleep, and when the Goddard Project sends him to investigate a case of high-tech espionage in the Vancouver film industry, he finds a perfect reason to work in bed. Review :
Good story, but drops the ball in the end
Alan is working undercover as a freelance writer researching the Vancouver film industry. His ultimate goal is to find the culprit beyond industrial espionage at one of the production companies, with ties to organized crime. He soon finds himself attracted to his landlord Jillian, who is also the star of a science fiction TV series whose production company is the subject of his clandestine investigation. Someone is out to steal technology, and is willing to kill for it. As Alan delves deeper into his investigation and the lives of the people in his rooming house, he can't help but fall for Jillian, despite her strict no sleepover policy. Her best friend Amanda is enjoying watching Jillian squirm as she deals with these new feelings.

Though billed as the second story in the Goddard series, Amanda and geeky husband Simon appeared in Monroe's earlier novel "The Real Deal." Monroe packs on the passion and tells an interesting a entertaining story but the industrial espionage...
Deal With This Being a Great Read!

Didn't Live Up To My Expectations
Actress Jillian Sinclair first appeared as the heroine Amanda's best friend in one of my all-time favorite romances - The Real Deal - so I couldn't wait to read about her finding true love with undercover agent Alan Hyatt. Alas, Deal With This did not live up to my expectations.

Alan Hyatt is undercover in Vancouver as a reporter in order to investigate pirated technology involving person or persons working on a syndicated SF series starring none other than former soap opera actress Jillian Sinclair. Because the show doesn't pay all that well, she also owns and runs, in a very "only in romanceland" manner, a boarding house lived in by many of those who also work on the show. Which is why Alan, of course becomes a boarder.

When Alan learns that Jillian is besties with Amanda, she becomes suspect number one, because, of course, Amanda's husband Simon is a high tech guru. But that doesn't stop the sexual chemistry from sizzling between the two. Jillian is a heroine...

I'm used to cleaning up after my boss, Hollywood superstar and all-around bad boy Ryder Pryce-Reed. Nothing can shock me now--not the countless "humped and dumped” women or the wreckage left in the wake of his wild ways--until he asks me to marry him...

...for a year.

He says it's strictly so he can claim his beloved grandfather's painting, but I know there's more. There's always more with Ryder.

My instincts say no, but he's offering to take care of the baby in my womb. Since my self-centered ex isn't going to play the father, I say yes, while steeling my heart. I can't afford to fall for a man who only wants me for a year.

But how can I resist the sexiest man alive when he turns on his formidable charm to give everyone a good show? And how does a simple girl like me deal with the spotlight as his fiancée...or the scandal that explodes in our faces?

Note: This book contains a cliffhanger.

Review :
Another great read!
I stumbled across Nadia's books and have been hooked since the first one. This is the third series of hers I have started and they are all just fantastic! Can't wait for the 2nd book in this series!

Loved it
I totally loved this book! Ryder needs to be loved and Paige is just as love able . I can't wait for Part 2!

Best yet from Nadia Lee!
Nadia Lee has done it again. Ryder and Paige belong together but their histories try to pull them apart. Loved every minute and encourage you to buy, and read this first of several related books. Be prepare for a nail biting, it's not over at "the End", ending.
