Engaging Story

Even though I'm not impressed by the "high life" of New York (the setting for this story), Gittlin has woven a very engaging story. From the first line he begins to hint at the ordeal to come - and the hints just keep on coming. I'm not quite to the half way point, but I am completely hooked. I know something big is going to happen - just trying to work out exactly what and how - which is why it actually engages my imagination and interest. Four stars for the prolonged emphasis on name brands and other details given that are over the top unless the reader is a follower of the rich and famous - some of it is needed to establish the setting, but enough already.
