It describes the symptoms and causes of adrenal fatigue and offers an exercise plan and suggested diet. But, it's missing some things: a shopping list so that it is easy to go to the store and buy the meal ingredients and a vitamin/nutrient/mineral guide that succinctly states how much you need of each item (daily dosing) and recommendations for quality products (such as the mega dosed probiotic).

Magazine Article Will Do
I bought this book, used, hoping to save money. What I should have done was gone to the library to check it out and not spent ANY money.

The book was worthless. It is long-winded, boring, and no matter how many pages I skimmed and fast-forwarded, I could not find concise, to-the-point, relevant information.

I will probably donate this book to charity where it will end up being sold on Amazon, again.

I bought the book based on a Prevention Health email commercial. Rather than buying it new, I bought it used on Amazon. I think you get better information on specifics by reading a magazine article.

It's warm, well-written, intelligent, informative. Above all, although it is frank and completely straightforward, it is written with an awareness of the fact that not everybody... well, almost nobody... is completely secure about sex. It neither condescends nor intimidates; it accepts our foibles and anxieties while gently but firmly showing us that there's a better way.

I can't imagine anyone, from a veteran swinger to a virgin, who wouldn't get something of value from it, with just a modicum of openmindedness.

Edit (4/28): I would like to address the "basic recipes" complaints. I've cooked my whole life and even won cooking contests. Over the weekend I followed the recipes for four "basic" items: perfect poached eggs, perfect burgers, perfect seared chicken breast, and perfect whole roasted chicken. All four turned out great! The burgers were way better than my usual ones, and the seared chicken breast was ridiculously delicious...so good that I'll cook it weekly! Looking forward to cooking my way through the rest of the book.

Truly a health revolution
I read the original Wheat Belly because my doctor was threatening me with a statin (low HDL, high triglycerides). I read through the book and his blog ( wheatbellyblog.com ) and found it hard to believe that wheat was my problem. So much so that it took me 4 months before I committed to a wheat free life.

6 weeks later I had my first wheat free blood draw. ALL markers (including triglycerides and HDL) were in normal range. I was stunned. After decades and different medications (none that worked) and here eliminating wheat was the answer? This was 19 months ago. I have since lost a lot of weight (100 lbs) and 14" off my waist. Nice side effect.

Total Health does build upon the original book and expands to grain free living with lots of the science and . I got a blood glucose meter about a year ago and came to the same realization myself. Rice kicked me to 160 even just the amount in one sushi. Corn takes me to about 110. I try to keep my levels...
