Review :
Good Textbook
I purchased this book for my son's college course; he says the textbook is excellent with facts and includes topics that are noteworthy -- and he rec'd an "A". And at a reasonable price.

Unnecessary access code
It's in great condition... I just didn't need the access code/ CD for my class, which made this book a lot more expensive than I was hoping for.

As a novel it would be fine, not really great as a textbook.
I rented this book from Amazon for a class I'm taking. The rental is perfectly fine, if I was reviewing for that, I'd give it 4.5 stars. There is very little writing and highlighting. The only reason I'd give it 4.5 instead of 5 is that the supplemental disk isn't with it. I haven't needed it, but it would be nice to have if I wanted it.

This 3 star review is for the book itself. It's okay, but it's very badly laid out for someone who knows nothing about public health. I'm taking this class online which means I have to learn from the textbook, something this book is not conducive to doing. The key terms often don't give a solid definition, the sections often don't really go with the headings and have random sentences that would have been better placed in another section. There are a ton of footnotes, many of which should probably be an actual part of the text and the boxes/tables/figures are often unnecessary and have you flipping back and forth in the chapter...

    Review :
    Poor layout
I only purchased this book as a requirement for a public health class. I find the reading to be very tedious, boring, and poorly layed out. While the material is not at all difficult, the formatting makes it impossible to pay attention.

It is one of the worst set ups for a book I have seen
This information is not hard, however, it could be said in a more interesting way. I think it is so dry that it makes it hard to read. I find myself reading then asking myself, what have I just read. It is one of the worst set ups for a book I have seen. The information provided could have been said in less words...This book really only needed to be about 200 pages... Not a 1000k

Great Resource for Community Health Nursing course.
I took Community Health Nursing at GCU. This book was a much needed resource to get through this course! Recommended!
